Absence/presence project 1
These three pictures comment on how the technology of today shadows the technology of the past. As new technology is developed we start to forget what we had beforehand. all the inventions and electronics that were ingenious a decade or two ago are lost today with all the improvements and changes. Also eventually, and probably not to far into the future, we will throw out our possesions we have today for something bigger and better. People start to forget where their new things started from, like the computers that used to fill rooms and now they can fit in a manilla envelope (macbook air).
Absence/Presence project
For these three works i was trying to put forth the idea that some, or a lot, of people try to blend in and become part of a group. Such as skaters, frat guys, preps, and even gangs. So who has their own, individual identity among the crowd of people already blended in? Eventually we all become static, automatically labeled by other people, or "read by our covers" per say. What would you think of somebody in a suit with short hair? a business guy? what about somebody in camoflauge pants and jacket? would you say that they are a redneck? Considering these ideas, who is really an individual in this mass of already labeled society?
